About Us

As a sister clinic to myvet Strathfieldsaye, our vets know desexed pets have happier and healthier lives.  We also know desexing can be done better, cheaper, more efficiently and with skill and care in a dedicated, well equipped facility.  And so, Snip & Chip low cost pet desexing was born!

We keep our prices low by vaccinating, microchipping, worming and desexing high numbers of healthy dogs and cats in a caring and efficient way.

No other veterinary procedures are completed at Snip & Chip.  So we don’t spend money on receptionists, x-ray machines, ultrasounds, a huge pharmacy or other fancy equipment.  Just fully qualified, skilled veterinarians and nurses, the right equipment and medication, and a calm, caring environment for your pet.

Snip & Chip practice the highest quality veterinary care – fully qualified and experienced vets and nurses, pain relief at the time of surgery and to go home, as well as using ‘within the skin’ stitches – no nasty external stitches needing to be removed later.

To keep prices low, Snip & Chip veterinarians and surgical nurses have the right to refuse to desex any animal, or charge additional fees to desex animals with any of the following –

  1. pets with health conditions that may result in increased anaesthesia or surgery risk to the pet, this includes Brachycephalic breeds, eg: (bulldogs, pugs)
  2. No female dogs over 30kg’s in weight.
  3. dogs or cats OVER the age of 6 years
  4. dogs or cats with health conditions including, but not limited to – heart disease, skin disease or any evidence of any other conditions that might increase the risk of anaesthesia or surgery,
  5. pets showing evidence of aggression or behavioural problems.

These animals may need extra care and may need to be seen by a full service veterinary clinic.  Drop us an email and we will let you know if we can help.

To keep prices low, Snip and Chip will only be open when every available surgery slot is filled.

All bookings must be made via our website – snipandchip.com.au/booking

Communication with our clients will be by text message, and drop off and pick up times will be allocated.  We can’t answer the phone during surgery – we are busy desexing and caring for your pets!
